Who Can Join?

Eligible members are Marines or Navy Fleet Marine Force Corpsmen and Chaplains who are either currently on active duty or have been honorably discharged. In addition, other interested individuals are also welcome to join who support the MCL’s principles, but are not eligible for regular membership (Associate Membership)

Annual Cost to Join

Annual dues are $35.00 for non-life members. See price list for Life Member Membership Fees!

The Membership Year is from September 1st of the current year to August 31st of the following year. All members must submit membership dues payments to the Detachment Paymaster by August 31st, in order to remain in “Good Standing” per MCL and Detachment Bylaws

If you are a Paid Life Member (PLM), this requirement does not apply; however, all PLMs are required to respond to the Annual Roster Audit of PLMs, which is conducted by the Paymaster and Adjutant in accordance with MCL and Detachment Bylaws.

How to Join

If you are interested in joining the H.E. “Speedy” Wilson Detachment #1141, download the membership application, fill it out, and bring your last DD-214 along with your membership payment ($35.00) to our next Detachment meeting. 

We meet the 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8738,  424 Cedarcrest Drive, Lexington, SC 29073. Our Social Hour begins at 6:00 p.m.; the Detachment Business Meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.

We accept cash, checks, or money orders. Please make checks and money orders out to the H.E. “Speedy” Wilson Detachment #1141.
