Community Connections
We are actively involved in supporting our local community through both fundraising and volunteer efforts. Each year, we participate in a variety of community initiatives, including:
- Scouts of America - Eagle Scouts: The Marine Corps League considers it an Honor and Privilege to recognize America's future leaders for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout by presenting them the Marine Corps League's "Good Citizenship Award" Certificate.
- JROTC Programs: We support various local area JROTC High School programs by presenting them with several awards to include, but not limited to the Outstanding Leadership Award (Marine Corps League, Department of South Carolina) and the Harold E. Speedy Wilson JROTC Leadership Award (Marine Corps League, Detachment #1141).
- Local Track Teams: Volunteers from the Detachment support the track teams at Airport High School, Fulmer Middle School, and Pine Ridge Middle School with the local track meets.
We are always looking for new ways to support our local community and honor our Veterans. Whether you’re a Marine, a family member, or a community member who shares our passion for service, there’s a place for you here. Getting involved with Detachment 1141 means becoming part of a dedicated group committed to making a difference. Join us in our mission—your time, talent, and support can help us continue to serve those who’ve served us all.
